FOR A SMALL ETERNITY.
The 1815 MOONPHASE “Homage to F. A. Lange” symbolises the conviction of Lange’s watchmakers that time cannot be measured in life spans. Much longer time periods are needed to manifest true accuracy. So during his lifetime, the proud owner of an 1815 MOONPHASE “Homage to F. A. Lange” will not be able to detect a deviation of the moon phase, nor will his descendants: the indication only needs to be corrected by one day after 30 generations – or 1058 years – have come and gone, provided the watch runs without interruption and remains set to the correct time.
18-CARAT HONEY-COLOURED GOLD.
The case and balance cock of the 1815 MOONPHASE “Homage to
F. A. Lange” are made of 18-carat honey-coloured gold. It matches a watch that is crafted to last for a small eternity. This material is characterised by a great resistance: with a Vickers hardness of 300 to 320HV1, it is distinctly harder than the platinum and gold alloys that are habitually used in watchmaking. Thanks to this special gold the 1815 MOONPHASE “Homage to F. A. Lange” is better protected against external damage.
A ROMANTIC HUE.
The warm, romantic hue of the new alloy harmonises perfectly with the argenté dial. The attractive colour combination is reflected on the moon-phase display: the lunar disc itself glows with the sheen of 18-carat honey-coloured gold. The silver stars twinkle brightly, matching the colour of the main dial. A small seconds dial at 4 o’clock establishes the visual equilibrium with the moon-phase display. The dial is framed by a classic minute scale in the elegant railway-track style.
