18-CARAT HONEY-COLOURED GOLD.
The case and the mirror-polished tourbillon cock are made of 18-carat honey-coloured gold. Its warm, subtle hue reflects the kind-hearted-ness and modesty that characterised the personality of Ferdinand A. Lange. But the new alloy also has another property that corresponds to a key character trait of the manufactory’s founder: its unusual hardness. With a Vickers hardness of 300 to 320HV1, it is distinctly harder than conventional gold alloys and thus much better protected against the signs of the times.

TRANSPARENCY INTO THE DEPTHS OF THE MOVEMENT.
The artistically guilloched dial of the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON “Homage to F. A. Lange” is a true eye-catcher: to make the new stop-seconds mechanism visible, Lange’s master watchmakers designed a per-ceptibly large tourbillon aperture. It provides a clear view of the complex interaction of the tiny parts through the transparent units
disc of the outsize date.
