A PARAGON OF PRECISION WATCHMAKING.

Lange’s master watchmakers already tested the limits of mechanical feasibility with the first edition of the TOURBOGRAPH “Pour le Mérite”. After all, this timepiece unites three of the most daunting horological complications that were ever implemented in a wristwatch:
a tourbillon, a fusée-and-chain transmission, and a rattrapante chronograph. In this second edition, Lange’s masters added another outstanding feature. An especially hard gold alloy was developed for the case: 18-carat honey-coloured gold – a perfect match for the complications integrated in the unique movement.


The TOURBOGRAPH

CLASSIC HARMONY PERFECTED.

18-carat honey-coloured gold is characterised by a subtly warm hue. With a diameter of 41.2 millimetres and a height of 14.3 millimetres, the exceptionally well-proportioned case harmonises perfectly with the guilloched dial. All indications are visible at a glance: hours, minutes, power reserve, 30-minute counter. The two slender, superposed sweep-seconds hands in the centre of the dial make it possible to stop cumulative times up to a total of 30 minutes as well as any num-
ber of intermediate times to an accuracy of one-sixth of a second. An aperture at 6 o’clock exposes the fascinating motion of the tourbillon.

LANGE TOURBILLON

A STRICTLY LIMITED EDITION.

The second edition of the TOURBOGRAPH “Pour le Mérite” presented on the occasion of the 165th anniversary of the manufactory’s establishment by Ferdinand A. Lange completes the series which was limited to 101 watches from the very beginning. The production of the 50 new timepieces in the honey-coloured gold cases is so time-
consuming that only about one of these masterpieces of micro-mechanical engineering can be completed each month. So it will take several years before the last TOURBOGRAPH “Pour le Mérite” of this edition leaves the manufactory.
