THE SELF-WINDING MOVEMENT OF THE SAXONIA DUAL TIME.

The SAXONIA DUAL TIME incorporates the newly developed calibre L086.2 with a central rotor; the L086.1 version of the calibre is also used in the SAXONIA AUTOMATIK. The setting mechanism for the second time zone was integrated on the dial side as an extra feature. Despite the central rotor configuration and the time-zone mechanism, the movement is merely 4.6 millimetres high. It is a technically sophisticated movement of divine beauty.

All surfaces of the movement are lavishly decorated by hand, even those that normally remain concealed to the eye of the beholder. The three-quarter plate is finished with Glashütte ribbing. Small levers and jumpers are decorated with straight graining, wheels with circular graining. The undersides of the plates feature a perlage pattern, and the spring barrel is finished with solarisation on both sides. Additionally, all the edges in the movement are chamfered and polished.

The self-winding calibre L086.2 is powered by a unidirectionally winding gold-plated central rotor with a platinum centrifugal mass. A reduction gear suspended in ball bearings transmits the energy to the spring barrel with minimal friction losses. It can generate a power reserve of up to 72 hours. The semi-circular shape of the rotor reveals the precious escapement: the shock-resistant screw balance with the Nivarox 1 balance spring, the hand-engraved balance cock, and the whiplash precision index adjuster.
