It takes craftsmanship honed over several centuries and about 30 meticulous steps for an emailleur to create a flawless and authentic enamel dial. Lange's dedication to historic authenticity also embraces seemingly minute details such as the separately imprinted and separately stoved red numeral XII. Blued steel hands with polished "eyes", the classic small seconds hand with the ZERO-RESET feature, and the "chemin-de-fer" style chapter ring round out the face of a timekeeping instrument that builds a credible bridge to the very origins of watchmaking.

The sapphire-crystal caseback reveals the self-winding Lange L921.7 SAX-0-MAT movement with its bidirectionally winding three-quarter rotor made of 21-carat gold and platinum. The ANNIVERSARY LANGEMATIK was crafted as a limited edition of 500 watches in the period from 2000 to 2004.
